St. Patty's Weekend

Friday morning Adam, Ella, and I headed to St. Louis for a fun little weekend together. We met up with Aaron and Sarah there. We originally were going for a St. Patrick's Day run, but I decided not to do it since I have even having ankle problems. It was still a fun weekend though.

Ella was so good the whole way to St. Louis. She has become such a good traveler. She watched a movie. She then decided she was tired and went to sleep. We stopped at Panera Bread (Ella's pick) in O'Fallon before we headed to the zoo.

The zoo was PACKED! Adam finally dropped us off at the door while he found a parking spot.  I did not expect it to be like that on a Friday. The weather was beautiful though so of course everybody and their brother would go to the zoo. It was still fun, and I think Ella enjoyed herself. I would like to go back when it's a little less crowded.

Once we left the zoo we went to our hotel to check in. We stayed at the Hilton by the ballpark which was really nice and in a great location. Ella was so excited to stay in a hotel again. Luckily, she didn't say anything about not sleeping like she has in the past. She has come a long way:)

We met Aaron and Sarah at the rooftop bar called, 360. I really appreciated the fact Ella could go up there, because if not we couldn't have done that.

Ella loved being outside at the bar. She ran around like a crazy woman!

We decided to take a carriage ride down to the Landing for dinner. Ella thought that was so much fun. It was a great night for it since it was so warm on Friday.

We ate dinner at Spaghetti Factory.

There is a balloon guy that comes around the table at Spaghetti Factory to make balloon hats. Ella spotted the balloons right away. The hostess said she would send him over, but he didn't show up. I got up to look for him, and I was lucky enough to find him. He came over and made balloon hats for us twice since the first ones popped. Ella loved it.

We took the metro back to the hotel. Ella went to sleep way past her bedtime, but it was totally worth it to see her have such a good time. She was such a trooper and went along with everything we did. I was so proud of her!

The next morning we were up bright and early for the run. I actually had my running clothes on ready to go, and then decided against it. My ankle was hurting (probably from all the walking we did the day before), and I just didn't think it was a good idea. I later found out it was a very hilly run so I'm glad I didn't do it. We still got decked out in green for St. Patty's Day.

That morning while I was putting on my makeup I accidentally knocked my coffee off the counter into our open suitcase. The lid came off and completely dumped out all over our clothes. Luckily, I was able to salvage most of our clothes, but the suitcase is ruined. Leave it to me!

After the run was a parade for St. Patrick's day.We didn't have to walk very far, because it was right outside of our hotel. It was freezing. The temperature kept dropping throughout the day. We watched it for awhile but decided to head for home midway. After a lunch at Panera Bread (the same one from the day before) we headed home.

It was a fun trip. It was a little hectic at times, but overall I'm glad we went. Ella is getting to the age where I think she will remember these trips. I hope these memories will last a lifetime for her!

Fun with Autumn

Autumn and Terry came over last week so the girls could play. They had the best time together! It is easy to see a change in both of them since they started preschool. They are growing up way too fast.

Autumn painted a picture of herself and gave it to Ella. So sweet!

The funnest part of the day was watching them ride Ella's Barbie jeep together. I have never heard so much giggling in my life. It was contagious. I was laughing so hard  just watching them. They definitely have a lot to learn when it comes to driving. Ella drove in circles, and Autumn went off roading.  She drove right into our neighbors mail box.
