Bug jar

This is Ella with her bug jar. Ella loves bugs. Her favorite thing to do at my mom and dad's house is pick up roly poly's and other random bugs and put them in her jar. She is definitely not like me. I do not like bugs at all. The other day we were driving down the road, and I about had a heart attack. I had a bug in my hair.  After I screamed and knocked the bug out of my hair Ella told me not to worry, because bugs are friendly. We could not kill the bug, because it needed to go back to it's family. I had to drive down the interstate not knowing where this things was crawling. Ella was keeping an eye on it for me so it didn't crawl back on me. Luckily, once we came to a stop it was able to crawl out the window and fly away.

I'm glad Ella can find joy in the simple things in life, like catching bugs:)

Vanderburgh County 4H Fair

Thursday evening the fun continued with a trip to the fair. Adam was so bummed he didn't get to go with us last year so this year I made sure we went on a day he could go.  I enjoy the fair, but I think it is way overpriced. This year they even adults have a ticket if you had to ride with your child. What a rip off! Ella had the best time so I guess it was worth it. The weather was perfect Thursday night. It was so nice that we didn't have to stand around and sweat. All in all it was a great trip to the fair!

Such a big slide for a such a little girl! Once she got up there she would not come down. Adam had to go up there and come down with her.

Fun summer days

We have a busy week full of summer fun. Tuesday we met up with my brother and Autumn at Burdette. We have really enjoyed Burdette this summer. It's even better that we have passes and can go anytime we want (thanks mom and dad).

Ella has really enjoyed the water slides this year. Last year she was a little unsure, but this year she is fearless. I think her and Autumn both could continuously go down the slides all day long, and I could take pictures of them going down the slides all day long. :)

Wednesday we met up with Joan and her kids at Scales Lake. This was our first time their this summer. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. It wasn't hot, but the water was warm. Ella isn't a big fan of random stuff floating around in water, but I think she did pretty good. I just have to say that Joan is a super mom for bringing three kids to a lake by herself. I admire that so much!

Rose learned to swim this summer all on her own!

I love our carefree summer days. Summer is going so fast as it usually does and will be over before we know it. Until then we will soak up as much sun as we can!
