Under the weather

It has been a rough few days.  Ella has had a horrible cold. She woke up shortly after I put her to bed on Saturday night with a fever. She was up almost all night, all day Sunday, and a lot of the night on Sunday night. It was pure misery.  She couldn't sleep, because her nose was so stopped up. On Monday she finally started feeling a little better, but her nose is running like a faucet now. We are both finally getting some sleep so things have been a lot more pleasant around here!

Hopefully in a few days she'll be back to my happy, healthy girl!

Trail walk

Ella heading off on the trail...

She loved picking up acorns!

Going down the tunnel slide all by  herself. Such a big girl!

It was a little scary at first, but she loved it!

Ella made a friend at the park. Her name is Annabelle. Ella was having fun with her until Annabelle became a little bossy. I found out today that Ella doesn't like to be bossed around by other children;)
Annabelle was waiting at the bottom for her, but Ella was pretty annoyed by this point..haha!

Cloudy

I think I introduced Cloudy in a previous post, but just in case you forgot who Cloudy is let me refresh your memory...

AHHHH!!!!!

I am very fond of Cloudy. If I could, I would pack her up and take her home with me. I haven't been around many Donkey's in my life, but she has to be the sweetest donkey I've ever come in contact with. Someday I may just have to have my own donkey.

Anyway, Ella and I had to go out to let Lacey's dog (Hank) out. She is in the hospital so I told her I would make sure Hank is taken care of. While we were out there we of course had to feed Cloudy. Yesterday I didn't have any food for Cloudy, and she was not happy with me. I am not exaggerating when I say that it sounded like she was crying when I was getting in my car. I made it up to her today by taking her some carrots and apples. Ella has tried to feed her before, but I was afraid she might try to eat Ella's little fingers. Ella really wanted to feed her today so I let her.

I think feeding Cloudy is Ella's new favorite thing. Once Cloudy ate the food Ella would come running to me saying "more." We fed Cloudy for an hour. I am pretty sure Cloudy didn't mind:)

Weekend

Happy Monday! I can't believe it's already September 20th. It will be Christmas before we know it. I can't wait! Anyway, we had a good weekend. Adam and I try to go out to eat on Friday nights by ourselves since it is the only dinner we get to eat in peace. This Friday he would not tell me where we were going. All I knew is we were going somewhere about an hour away. Once we hit the Louisville exit I guess we were going to the Overlook Restaurant, and I guessed right. When I was a kid we passed this place a million times coming home from camping, but I had never eaten there. It was delicious, and a nice surprise. Good job Adam!

Saturday we headed to the Winslow Community Festival. Ella had her first lemon shake up. Those are my favorite, and Ella loved it too!

Ella and Poppy at "Bertram Feed & Supply"

Getting ready to go down the big blow up slide. Trying to climb up this thing with Ella was a challenge.

Weeeeeeee.....

Sunday morning Ella and I gave the boys a bath. The poor boys:( Ever since Ella came along they definitely don't get as many baths as they used to. I am such a bad mom..haha. I don't think they mind being dirty. They HATE getting a bath!

Elliott pissed at me for taking pictures of him while he is freezing and wanting out!

Ella thought thought the boys in the bath was hilarious!

Lastly, my mom made Ella a dress this weekend. We bought some material awhile back for a pillowcase dress. I love these, and they are so cheap to make. My mom did a test run this weekend, and it turned out great. Just imagine this with leggings, and a shirt underneath. I have a feeling Ella may have one for every holiday;)

21 months

Ella Claire- you are 21 months old today.
You are 3 shorts months away from being 2 years old. Please stop growing up!

You wear size 18-24 month clothing, and a size 5 shoe. Your feet are a little chubby so mommy has a hard time finding shoes that fit right:)

Your vocabulary is expanding daily. You can say "apple" "baby" "ball" "bear" "belly" "bird" "bug" "bye bye" "car" "cheese" "choo-choo" "cookie" "dada" "dog" "down" "go" "juice" "key" "shoe" "teeth" "turtle" "uh-oh" and "up." You understand most of what we are saying. You are a good listener when you want to be.

Your favorite thing to do is climb! You try to climb on everything. You have climbed on the table, counter, toilet, bed, couch, swing, and your latest thing is the fence. I dread the day you figure out how to climb out of your crib. You are such a busy little girl. You keep me on my toes every moment of the day. I am exhausted by the time you go to bed at night.

You are such a picky eater . I never know what and when you will eat. You have started acknowledging that you are hungry by going to the fridge or pantry. Your favorite food continues to be cheese. You recently stopped taking your "baba", and you did better than I could have ever imagined. I know that it was a lot harder on me than you. You are becoming such a big girl.

Your smile could light up a room. I love to see your smiling face everyday and hearing you laugh. You are such a lovable little girl. I love when you lay your head on my shoulder. I also love that when you get out of the bathtub you always give me a kiss and a hug. I hope you know and feel how many people in your life love you.

You love to dance. You love dancing to Elmo songs and Baby Einstein music. You love to sway back and forth and bob your head when you dance. Every once in awhile you will throw in a new move and that makes daddy and I laugh.

This is you one year ago at 9 months old. Where did my little baby go? I can't even remember you looking like this. You are growing up faster than I ever expected. I still remember being pregnant with you like it was yesterday. Ever since I had you time just seems to be slipping away. Even though I miss you being a baby sometimes, I love the stage you are in now. We have a lot of fun together! I try to treasure every moment I spend with you, because I know years from now I will look back and wonder where this time went. Daddy and I love you more than words can say. We are so blessed!

New word: Turtle!

Wednesday

Ella had her second First Steps appointment with her therapist, Kathy, BRIGHT and EARLY this morning. I did not have the best night of sleep last night so I was not looking forward to it. The dogs sleep with me on Tuesday nights, because Adam is in Terre Haute. At around 12:30 Elliott scratched on the bedroom door wanting to go potty, and he woke Ella up. Once I got her back to sleep we headed back to bed. Elliott scratched on the door two more times and finally went to sleep around 3:30. He is worse than a newborn baby!

I got up this morning to make my coffee and of course Ella woke up right along with me. Is it too much to ask to be able to have one cup of coffee and sit at my computer in peace when I get up? I think it is, because it NEVER happens. I think Ella can sense when I am up. Mommy isn't allowed a moment of peace;)

Kathy showed up a few minutes early this morning. She came in with her bag of goodies, and Ella wanted everything in the bag. Kathy suggested we put Ella in her high chair. I thought to myself, "yeah right, not going to happen." I went along with it and to my surprise Ella sat for 45 straight minutes. She was such a good girl! She said "boo" "airplane" "more" "bye bye" "ball" "five" "key" and "bubble." She also blew kisses, gave high fives, popped bubbles, played peek a boo, and signed more. Kathy was very impressed with her today. Ella has really been coming along in the past couple of weeks. I am anxious to see how much she will be talking by the time she is 2. Today also marked a week since Ella has had her beloved "baba." She is doing great and doesn't even seem to miss it.

Since she had such a great appointment I took her to the park. I didn't realize how hot it was, but we still managed to have a good time:)
