"Rock a bye baby."

This is similar to another video I have posted, but I thought it was cute. Ella has been trying to sing, "Rock a bye baby."

Some days

I get irritated because....

My house isn't as clean or as organized as I would like it to be.

I am not as organized as I would like to be.

I don't get as much sleep as I would like.

I don't get to shower until nap time.

My car is a mess.

The dogs had an accident AGAIN!

I haven't had enough "me" time.

I don't have enough time..period!

Laundry is piled up and needs to be done.

I don't want to make dinner.

Little things like that irritate me a lot, even though in the grand scheme of things they really aren't that important. So that why I try to remember...

This face...

This beautiful face...

Makes my life worthwhile!

I saw this on another blog, and I thought it summed up motherhood to a T.

"A million little sacrifices all piled up to make one big one."
It's not all about me anymore.

Winter Wonderland and Daddy's Birthday

First off, I would like to wish Adam a HAPPY 31st Birthday! Let's face it Adam, you are getting OLD. HAHA! I like to give Adam a hard time, because he is in his 30's and I am not. Once I turn 30 it won't be funny anymore:)

They said it was going to snow on the news last night, and they were right! I was hoping it would hold off until this afternoon, because I had an appointment to get my nails done this morning. Mother nature decided she didn't want to wait for me, and it started snowing around 8:00 this morning. Don't worry, I still made it to my appointment. I dropped Ella off with Mammy and PP  while I went, and we played in the snow for a bit when I got back. Ella seemed to like the snow the first go round, but now she doesn't want to step foot in it. She is fine until you try to put her down, and then she isn't happy.

"Pick me up Mammy!"

Me and my sidekick:)

I can't forget the boys. They love it!

Somebody needs a haircut!

Now on to Adam's birthday. Ella and I were hoping to make Adam's birthday as special for him as we could. I think we did pretty good at achieving that. Ella painted Adam a picture for his birthday, and I got Adam a few things that he wanted.

I made one of his favorite dinner's, penne pasta with italian sausage..YUM!
Here is the birthday boy with his dinner.

And for dessert.... Adam requested brownies with ice cream and chocolate syrup so that is exactly what I made. Yes, he is spoiled. LOL!

Happy 31st Birthday Adam! How does it feel to be OLD? ;)

25 months

Ella, you are 25 months old today. Why does that sound so old!? You are growing up way too fast. I love the stage you are in right now, even though I think I have loved every stage. It's so nice to be able to communicate with you. You say and do the funniest things these days.

You are talking non-stop now. If we ask you a questions you always say a very enthusiastic, "yeah!" Lately you have been saying, "there it is" and "there you are." You have also been putting two words together. Just yesterday you said "pop bubble." You also repeat almost anything we say. We went to the mall yesterday, and when we pulled up you said "mall." You have also learned what a sneeze is. If we ask you to sneeze you say, "haaaachoooo." It makes us laugh every time:)

Your appetite has taken off too! You will tell us when you are hungry by saying "eat." Your favorite foods are, hot dogs, chicken nuggests, mac and cheese, apples, cheese, fries, apples, granola bars, and anything pasta. You do not like vegetables. I can get you to eat peas and carrots if they are mixed with something. We still need to work on that.

You are such a fun little girl! You love to color, and we have also been painting. You make a mess, but you seem to enjoy it. You also like to build with blocks. You try to count, but right now all you say is "two." You also love to play with your doll house, babies, cars, and balls.

You are such a daddy's girl. You love to carry around and cuddle with two t-shirts that he wears all the time. I think you love them so much, because they smell like him.

I can't believe how grown up you are looking. You are growing up faster than I ever thought you would. You bring us so much joy and make us laugh everyday. I hope you know how much we love you Ella!

Pump It Up!!

Ella and I went to Pump It Up this morning for Pre-K playtime. Pump It Up has tons of inflatables that kids can play on. I was hoping Ella would have fun and get wore out at the same time!

There were two inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and two bouncy houses.

Ella entering the obstacle course only to come right back out. It took her a little while to get used to this stuff!

Getting ready to slide down the big ball in one of the bouncy houses. There will be a video of this at the end of the post!

Ella jumping in the bouncy house.

Ella had so much fun at Pump It Up. She was wore out by the time we got home, and I am pretty sure she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Our first trip was a success!

Bath time fun!

New Mattress

We FINALLY bit the bullet and got a new mattress today. I have been saying for a long time that we needed a new one, but Adam would just brush it off. I was finally able to persuade him to get one, and it was definitely money well spent!

Hello new mattress! I have been waiting for you for a long time!!

Every time we sleep at a hotel or go to Florida Adam and I always end up talking about how comfortable the mattress is. It is pretty sad that we sleep better on someone else's mattress compared to our own. Not anymore!

I wish I had a picture of our old mattress. It was about as flat as the pillow top on this new one.

I'm in heaven!!!

The boys had to try it out even though they will not be sleeping on it!

Ella had to test it out...

If anyone needs to get a hold of me you know where you can find me. I may not be around for awhile, because you may not be able to get me off of this thing! Sweet dreams:)

Snow day

I woke up today to a lovely blanket of snow. Snow is beautiful when you don't have to go out and drive in it:)

I was excited to take Ella out in it since she enjoyed it last time.

You can see how much she enjoyed it today..haha!

She was definitely not happy about it!

We went in shortly after this picture was taken.

Better luck next time, I hope!

Brushing teeth

Ella's doctor told me a couple of weeks ago when I took her to the doctor that I had to start brushing her teeth.  If you have ever seen Ella with a toothbrush or toothpaste you would know why it was so hard to brush her teeth. First of all she ate the toothpaste. I don't blame her. It smelled like candy! She also like to have control of her toothbrush. Anytime I would try to come near her with a toothbrush she would start screaming, because SHE wanted to do it.

After that appointment I told myself I was going to start brushing Ella's teeth. No matter what it took or how long, I was going to do it. I bought some kid's fluoride toothpaste at the store a couple days later, and the teeth brushing began. For the first couple of days Ella was not happy about me brushing her teeth. The first day she screamed, but I did it anyway just to show her who was boss. The second day I tried the sneak attack. I came up behind her, tilted her head back, and started brushing.  It took a couple of days, but teeth brushing is no longer a problem. She doesn't try to eat the toothpaste (she couldn't anyway since their is fluoride in it), and I have control of the brush.

I took a little video today just so everyone can see how far she has come:)

Future artist?

Since it was FREEZING today, we were stuck in the house. I try my best to think of different things to do with Ella so she doesn't get bored. Today I thought we would try out finger painting.
She did it once before last winter, but we haven't done it since.

She touched the paint with her hands and decided she did not like it. She wanted no part of painting with her fingers. I cleaned her off and gave her a paint brush. She was much happier painting with a brush!

Artist in the making...

Going to town with the paintbrush!

She had so much fun!

Ella's first masterpiece!

A new year

First of all, Happy 2011!

We rang in the new year with a sick child. It started off Friday morning in the car. Ella got sick and vomited all over her car seat, the passenger seat, and her clothes. I cleaned up Ella while Adam completely cleaned out my car. He even had to take a toothbrush to the seat belt to clean out the puke. It was nasty! Ella seemed fine the rest of the day, but I kept her home just in case. I had a feeling she would wake up sick once she went to bed. She just was not herself. She kept following me around saying "momma" wanting to be picked up. About an hour after she went to bed she woke up crying. I brought her in the living room, and she vomited again all over the couch and carpet. Adam took charge of the cleaning while I got Ella cleaned up in the bath tub. I think Adam did more cleaning in one day then he did in the past year;)

This was Ella New Years Eve playing outside. The weather was unusually warm for the last day in December.  You can't even tell she doesn't feel good!

In the midst of Ella's sickness Adam and I decided to paint the computer room. It has been pink for the last year, and I couldn't take it any longer. Saturday Ella took an extra long nap so we ended up getting the whole room painted in three hours. Sunday I did some touching up, and here is the finished product...

We still have a few pictures to hang, but it looks 100x better than it used to! I am really excited about my new poster (top left) I got for Christmas and my zebra lamp!

I can't believe another year has come and gone. The days/weeks/years are just flying by way too quickly. I set a couple of goals for myself this year. I am hoping to be more organized and try to be a little more patient. That one definitely is not very easy for me. I am also going to try to get Ella potty trained (sigh). That one could be a little difficult.

Hope everyone has a great 2011!
