Christmas 2019
Christmas Eve finally rolled around, and the girls were ready to go to Mammy and Peeps bright and early. Paige would have left as soon as she woke up if she could. We head over there fairly early so we have time to unwrap gifts and enjoy lunch together.
She was SO excited to look in her stocking and unwrap her first round of gifts.
My parents put a lot of work preparing for Christmas Eve. From picking out gifts that everyone will love to preparing food and the table. They make Christmas Eve really nice for all of us.
Paige had to get a sneak peek into the big box. She just couldn't wait.
Ella was excited too but has learned some patience over the years.
While we waited we took some pictures before things got too crazy.
The hostesses with the mostesses!
There is no denying where I get my Christmas spirit from.

The weather was unusually warm for Christmas. Even though I would prefer it to be snowing, it was nice to be able to go outside without a coat on. We were able to try out Paige's t-ball set. I also ate my fair share of food that day. We have appetizer type foods, and I love it.
Adam and I actually had a fairly easy Christmas eve night this year. There was only one thing to put together which was nice. This was our first year having one "non-believer", and although it was weird, it was nice in ways too.
Ella was still up at the crack of dawn dying to unwrap gifts. She woke up at 4am but was nice enough to wait until 6am to wake me up. If you have never woke up to a child staring at you, you are truly missing out. I about jumped out of bed.
This kid waited until about 7am to wake up. She was so excited to come downstairs to see what Santa left her.
We spend Christmas Day afternoon at Adam's mom's house. It was another warm day, and we spent most of the day outside enjoying it. Paige and Ella loved rides up and down the driveway with Adam on the four-wheeler.
Maw and the girls. Pretty soon there will be another girl to add to the mix!
Overall, we had a good Christmas. I love the Christmas season, but it's always nice getting life back to normal as well. As I write this it's two days after Christmas, and I have already taken down all the decor. When it's over, it's over.
It's time to gear up for a new year now, and I hope 2020 is a great one. Looking back, 2019 was great! I'll always be thankful for the blessings we have. Our life isn't perfect, but I'm thankful for what we have (imperfections and all).
The holiday season- 2019
We had a busy holiday season this year even though we were dealing with a lot of illnesses. Poor Paige could not get over her ear infection.
We went to our gym's breakfast with Santa the week after Thanksgiving. We had been up almost all night long. I'm not even sure how we made it there. Poor Paige was just not feeling good but wanted to go so bad. After a visit with Santa, we headed straight to the doctor. Come to find out, Paige's ear infection did not go away, and it turned into a double ear infection. The doctor put her on a strong antibiotic and sent her on her way.
The following day we went to Nick Jr. Live. We had VIP tickets that included a meet and greet afterward.
Paige loved it and had the best time.
Paige was able to meet Rubble and Dora after.
That night Paige hit rock bottom. She fell asleep on the couch at 5:30 after her temperature spiked.
It took Paige almost a week to get back to normal. She had a fever every night for five or six days, and the medicine tore up her stomach. She was a mess!
Paige was well just in time for her preschool Christmas party.
We also celebrated Ella's eleventh birthday with some friends.
They decorated gingerbread houses, exchanged gifts, ate pizza, and ran all over the house. It was wild, and they had a great time.
On the last day of school, Paige was leader. It was a fun, easy day. I love seeing her at school with her friends. She loves school and loves all the activities.
Can you tell how much Adam loves Christmas? He is such a scrooge but goes along with all my plans. We got Starbucks and went to the Fantasy of Lights. I love Christmas lights!!
Adam was LOVING IT!
Adam finally put out our "Christmas lights" two days before Christmas. Better late than never!
We drove through the living nativity. The girls enjoyed it, and Paige was waving at everyone. She couldn't understand why they were not waving back.
We had a good holiday season. We tried to soak up as much Christmas as we could before the actual day came. I love everything about the Christmas season, and I'm sad when it's over. Until next year...
