Easter project

Since Easter is only a month away I thought it would be fun for Ella to do a couple of Easter craft projects. I found one here and thought it would be something that Ella could do with a little help from me.

She LOVES glue!

Ella with her chick!

The finished product hanging on the fridge!

It doesn't look exactly like it's supposed to, but that's what happens when a 2 year old gets a hold of the glue :)

Weekend of birthdays!

We had such a busy weekend!  Friday night we went to Logan's to celebrate Lacey's (Adam's sister) birthday. Ella calls her "Cey Cey".  Ella loves going to Cey Cey's house because of her dog Hank. Ella LOVES Hank. I am pretty sure Hank loves Ella just as much, because she gives him treats the whole time we are there. Cey Cey comes over quite often to eat dinner with us and play with Ella. Anytime she comes over Ella expects her to give her a bath. Usually, if I tell Ella Cey Cey is coming over Ella says, "Cey Cey bath." She knows the drill! When Lacey and Ella are together I am not sure who has more fun since Lacey is like a big kid herself! I know that is what Ella loves so much about her.

Saturday Adam and I headed to Terre Haute. I was excited to  finally meet two of the guys he works with (and their spouses). Adam skypes with these guys all the time so I kind of felt like I already knew them. Terre Haute has become Adam's second home, and I was happy to finally be able to get a glimpse into this world. We ate at a restaurant called "Moggers".  After we had dinner we went to Bobby (dude Adam works with at Union) and Brandi's (his wife) house. They had a baby, Natalie, a month ago, and she is PRECIOUS. She is a beautiful baby, and I probably could have brought her home with me. I was hoping the baby fever might have rubbed off on Adam, but I don't think it did. Ha!

Sunday morning we headed home. I always get a little home sick so I was happy to get back to Evansville. As soon as we hit the door Ella was squealing with delight to see Adam. Notice I say Adam. She could have cared less that mommy was home..haha. I don't take offense to this at all. The moment she needed something she came running to me;) My parents said she was an angel while we were gone. I am glad her "not sleeping while mommy and daddy are gone" phase has passed. It's so nice we can leave and know that Ella is happy and taken care of.

Sunday was my friend Alison's birthday!

That is my all time favorite picture of us. This was taken at her wedding during the dollar dance.  She is such a great friend, and I think this picture shows just how much her friendship means to me.

We are both turning 29 this year, and I can't believe it! I remember our 21st birthday's like they were yesterday.  It's unfortunate that we are getting so old;) Alison and I have been through so many things together. I honestly can't imagine my life without her. It's hard to find a friend that you can count on for anything, but I know I can always count on her.  I was sad that I didn't get to celebrate Alison's birthday with her, but we are getting together tomorrow for dinner. Not only do I love Alison, but Ella does to. She calls her "Ali." I can't wait until Alison has a little girl of her own one of these days. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later..haha!  Love you Ali!

Sunday evening we went over to my mom and dad's house to celebrate my brother's 32nd birthday. I CAN NOT BELIEVE he is 32. Where did the years go? I still think of us as kids and probably always will. I never thought we would both have little girls who are only 5 months apart. It's so fun to get them together and see what great friends they are becoming.

We got a party pizza from Turoni's last night, YUM! My grandpa was there to celebrate with us. He is doing so well and looks and acts just like he used to. It's so nice to see him laughing and cracking jokes again. I wasn't quite sure if I would ever see that again. He was so happy to see the girls and visit with everyone.

That was our weekend. I was so exhausted last night but really happy to be back in my comfy bed! Hope you all had a great weekend too!

Welcome to Ella's house

This is Ella's new house. She got it for Christmas, and we were finally able to put it together since it's been so nice out! It was in the back of Adam's truck, and I showed it to her after she woke up from her nap. She immediately started saying, "house." At the time, Adam was still working. Luckily, he was finished around 5:30 on Sunday. As soon as he hit the back door Ella was ready for him to put it together. Adam was tired from working all day, and I am sure the last thing he wanted to do was put together a playhouse. Being the great daddy that he is, he went and got his tool box and got started. With Ella's help (haha) he finished it just before her bedtime. She obviously loves it. There is a tool bench and kitchen area. There is also a little phone. The first time Ella saw it she picked it up and said, "Hello PP" (PP is my dad), and then she put it back to her ear and said, "hello mammy." We obviously call them a lot! We will also be planting flowers in the window box. I know Ella will be excited to water her flowers everyday. Our backyard has become her playground. Yesterday morning we were out playing at 8:00am. Last night we ate outside, and she loved it! I have a feeling we will be doing a lot of that in the coming weeks.

Last night Adam was actually off work at normal time. YAY! That hasn't happened in awhile. After work he came out to play with Ella. She absolutely ADORES her daddy. There is something about a little girl and her daddy that is so sweet. He can get her to laugh and smile like no one else can. It's so fun to watch them together. She has definitely brought out another side of Adam that no one else can.

I have really been enjoying my time with Ella lately. It was getting old being stuck in the house and being outside with her has been wonderful. She is at a fun age right now. She is learning so many new things. Everyday is something new, and I consider myself lucky that I get to see and hear all these new things. Even though some days are tough I do feel blessed that I am able to spend so much time with her. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

This is a picture of our tree out back that we planted when I was pregnant. It has grown quite a bit in the past 3 years. These little flowers are blooming right now, and it's such a pretty sight to see. I am so glad spring is here! I hope everyone is enjoying it as much as we are!

27 months

Ella is 27 months old today, and what a big girl she is becoming! It makes me sad to think that my baby is growing up so fast, but how could you be sad after looking at that smile?

Ella is now wearing size 6 shoe and 24mo./2T clothing. She is still in size 5 diapers. We haven't started potty training yet, but I know the time is getting close. Ella fully understands what you do in the "potty."

Ella's vocabulary continues to grow by the day. It's something new all the time. Last week she said "Elmo funny" which was new. Today Adam was watching a documentary on Coke, and Ella looked at the TV and said "Coke." I have no idea how she knew that! She also asked for a glass today instead of a cup. Any poop she sees outside is "Elliott poop." For some reason she blames everything on Elliott. Elliott was barking outside the other day, and Ella went over to him and said "hush!"  She has also started counting, which I am so proud of!

Ella is such a sweet natured little girl! I hope she will always have a kind heart. She is very observant of what is going on around her. I notice her mimicking things she sees us doing all the time.

Ella loves the outdoors. She loves to swing and slide. She loves to run around and be silly. I have noticed she does not like to get her hands dirty. Today she played in a sandbox, and she did not like the sand on her hands. She also noticed there was dirt on her shoes, and she said "ucky!"

Ella is still a picky eater, but I do think she is getting better. She eats a lot more than she used to, but it is definitely not top on her priority list.  New things she has been eating lately are bananas and carrot sticks with ranch dressing. She drinks more milk than any child I have ever seen. She loves her milk!

Ella is such a good sleeper! She usually sleeps from 1-4 everyday, and goes to bed at 8. She usually wakes up around 8 or 8:30. She loves to go "night night." We have the same routine everyday, and I think that has helped tremendously.

Ella is such a happy little girl. She wakes up everyday ready for a new adventure! She is in a good mood most of the time, but like all kids, she has her moments. I'd be lying if I said everyday with her was easy, but I try to soak up every minute I can. I know she won't be this little forever!

Beautiful day

Today was BEAUTIFUL! The warm weather just made me happy. I have been thinking about warmer weather all winter, and it's finally here. I am sure we will have a few more cooler days, but the worst is over!

We have been living outside. Ella loves to run, swing, and slide. She has been having such a good time on her new swing set. She still points out the window and says "Daddy!" and then she says "fun".  I am sure she remembers it being loaded in daddy's truck, and daddy putting it together. I think she thinks her swing set is called  "dada." She loves her daddy!

Tomorrow is supposed to be another warm day so if you need us you know where you can find us!

Weekend recap

We had such a nice weekend! It was so nice out on Saturday so I took Ella over to my mom and dad's to play. She loves to run around their yard, and Saturday was no exception. She was outside all morning and afternoon. She helped grampy rake leaves, and then ran through them. The only thing that could have made it better is if cousin Autumn would have been there!

On Sunday we slept in. The time changed messed us up a little bit. Ella didn't get up until nine, which made her an hour off the rest of the day. I didn't put her to bed until 9 (which to her was 8) just to keep her on schedule.

We have been tossing around the idea of getting Ella a swing set for awhile now.  I brought it up to Adam a couple months ago, and he wasn't fond of the idea. Ella thought it was a great idea and made this for daddy...

Since Adam worked a CRAZY amount of overtime the past two weeks we decided to go get it. We spent almost all day putting it together. The sun was out, but we still froze our butts off. I think we said a few times that Ella better love this thing, because then it would all be worth it.  It wasn't that hard to put together, it was just time consuming. Adam did really good putting it together. He didn't even get frustrated! haha.

The finished product! I just wanted to note that it is secured to the ground. Anytime we have a bad storm things tend to blow over and break. We didn't want that to happen to us AGAIN!

Ella's first time up the steps to the slide!

Ella obviously LOVES her swing set. She threw a major fit when we had to go in, but I was about frozen. I have a feeling we will be spending lots of time outside this spring and summer. Bring on the warm weather! We're ready!
