Ella and Paige | Week 4

The past four weeks have flown by. Life with two kids is busy and exhausting. Some nights I am full of energy, and some nights I can not wait to go to bed. Adam and I are slowly figuring out life as a family of four. We definitely have less time together, and I have less time to myself.  The number one thing I have learned since having Paige is life with two kids takes a lot of planning. I can't just pick up and go like I used to. Each week I plan out what I'm going to do and how I am going to do it. Life is a little more complicated right now, but I'm learning to accept it.

Luckily, Paige is a dream baby. My mom tells me she is my reward for everything I went through, and maybe she is? I definitely can not complain about her. She is rarely fussy, eats like a champ, and sleeps really well for a baby her age. She has been sleeping in her crib since she was a week old. She typically is ready for bed around 7/7:30 and usually only wakes up two times per night. She has even slept six hours before she needed to be fed. I am SO thankful. My entire pregnancy I pictured myself as a walking zombie, and that has not been the case.

Ella has adjusted better than I ever imagined. She is like a little mother hen to Paige. She isn't afraid to correct anyone if she thinks they are not doing something like mommy does. She is always interested in what Paige is doing and likes to watch her. She is not bothered at all by her crying. Ella used to despise babies crying, but Paige does not bother her at all. She has not even had a twinge of jealousy. She is so proud of her little sister.

Overall, we are doing well and figuring this out as we go. Even though Paige is only four weeks old it seems like she has been with us forever.

Here is a glimpse of the past week:

Paige loves to sleep through Ella's swim lesson.

My little burrito! Paige loves to be swaddled, especially in her swaddle pods.

Ella and I got "private time" as she calls it, and we went to Chuck e Cheese.

Newborn Photos

I received Paige's newborn photos, and I am in love! I have been planning these for months, and they turned out exactly as I pictured!

Enjoy:)

Ella and Paige | Week 3

I can't believe Paige has been a part of our family for three weeks now. For some reason, her birth seems like months ago.

Last week, I was finally able to drive again and lift the car seat myself. I discovered that it isn't as easy getting out of the house and being on time to appointments with two kids. Somehow, we made it to the dentist and doctor on time. It takes a lot of planning getting two kids and myself ready and out of the door. I decided to take Paige with us to Ella's dentist appointment. Things were going fine until she pooped, and I noticed it went up the front of her diaper. That was fun. I'm trying my best to keep my cool in every situation and remind myself this won't be forever. I learned with having Ella that they grow and change so quickly.

Here are a few (a lot) of pictures from the past week...

Ella has still been very interested in Paige. It has been so cute watching their relationship grow.

Ella's first day of ECS summer camp was last Tuesday. I think I had a harder time with it than she did.

Since Ella was at summer camp Paige and I ran a few errands, but first I had to wait for her to wake up. She looks really enthused with our plans for the day, doesn't she?

Paige's first check up. She weighed in at 7 pounds 13 ounces. She is 25th percentile in height and weight.

Ella tried on her new swimsuit so Paige had to as well...

Zoo with friends

This past Wednesday we kicked off Summer with a trip to the zoo. We met up with Ella's friends from school: Kole, Kasen, and Karlie. The boys are twins, and they are both in Ella's class. Kole is Ella's first friend she made in kindergarten, and they have the sweetest friendship. She seems to be just as good of friends with Kasen which I didn't realize until our zoo trip. Their sister, Karlie, is going to be in kindergarten this coming school year and is a tomboy just like Ella. They are a great little group to hang out with this summer!

It started pouring rain right after we arrived at the zoo. We decided to go in Amazonia first and hope that the rain would let up by the time we got out. We were lucky, and the sun ended up coming out after a quick rain.

Ella of course had to race Kole across the bridge.

Things got a little crazy while we were waiting for our pizza! I love their funny faces.

The highlight of the day was feeding the giraffe.

And riding the tram around the zoo two times...
We ended the day with a trip to the new playground.

I am so thankful for Ella's friendship with these three, and my friendship with their mom. We are looking forward to a summer of fun with them.
