13 months old today!

Ella is 13 months old today. I can't believe it. She is growing up right before my very eyes. I remember last year at this time. She was still so tiny and depended on us for everything. Now she is running around getting into everything. I am reading a book right now called, Learning to Fly, about mothers and daughters. In the prologue the mother is talking about how she is up during the middle of the night listening for her daughter, but all she hears is silence. She describes it as this,

" You dance and dance, around and around with your child, thinking, most days, Will the music never end? And then, in eighteen years that pass like a blink, it does. And you're left standing on the dance floor, arms raised to go on. The music has stopped, your child is gone, and you realize the dance is over. You're standing alone."

I know Ella isn't quite that old yet, but she is growing up so fast. I try to take a step back sometimes and tell myself I need to enjoy every minute (even the bad ones), because the time is passing by so quickly. I count my blessings everyday, because this time could have been taken away from me so easily. I am so lucky to get to watch this precious little girl grow up!

Ella is quite the trickster at dinner time. She loves to put on a show for us. Her newest thing in this order is

Squinting...

Clicking...
Spitting/Blowing....
She mimics everything we do. We need to teach her something else to keep us entertained!

Cozy Coupe

Adam was off today so he decided to put Ella's princess cozy coupe together (not an easy task). Ella really seems to like it, and I think she will like it even more when she can go outside. She sat in it for awhile watching her favorite show, Baby Einstein. What a life!

Happy girl!

While I was pregnant with Ella I never imagined she would be such a happy baby. She started smiling around 8 weeks old and hasn't stopped since. She has such a zest for life. All you have to do is look at this face, and it will put you in a good mood!

Playmates!

Ella's favorite playmate, Cousin Autumn, came over to play today. These two make quite a pair!
