Easter Weekend

Be prepared for lots of pictures. I took a ton of pictures this weekend, because we were so busy. Friday morning I met Sarah to run our second to last long run. I can't tell you how excited I am when these long runs are over. They wear me out, and I use a full days worth of energy running. Once I'm done I come home and have a full day ahead of me. It's not easy, but I have to do it. The half marathon in Nashville is two weeks from this Saturday. I can't believe I'm doing this again!!

We knocked off 10 minutes compared to last years 11 mile run. It's nice to know all this hard work is paying off!

After my run I met Ella and Adam at CMOE. Adam was off on Friday and was nice enough to take Ella to the museum. She had been wanting to go so bad. It's the first thing I heard when I went in her room that morning. Adam got Ella ready and even put a matching bow in her hair. I was shocked. He has come a long way the past few years;) They were of course in the wet deck area when I got there. The wet deck has two of Ella's favorite things: water and balls. I think Adam had just as much fun as Ella. He is like a big kid around her, and she loves that!

Friday afternoon I was so tired and wanted to take a nap so badly. I was keeping my fingers crossed that Ella would nap so I could. She decided it would be fun to make a mess in her bed and try to get the bumper out. Yes, she is still in a crib. Her feet will probably be hanging out of that bed when we finally decide to get her a big girl bed. She loves her bed, and I'm not doing anything to disrupt her sleep anytime soon. Needless to say, I didn't get my much needed nap.

She was so proud of herself!

Saturday morning we dyed Easter eggs. Ella did pretty good besides throwing the eggs in the cups and cracking the eggs. Ha! She also wanted to "open" every egg and get the "ball" out.  Out of two dozen we ended up with a dozen uncracked, edible eggs.

Saturday we celebrated Easter with Adam's mom, step-dad, and sister. We went to Lacey's house to eat and have an Easter egg hunt. Ella loved hunting for eggs this year. She had to stop and look in each egg to see what was in it. She also got two Easter baskets while we were there. After we ate pizza we headed to one of her favorite playgrounds by Lacey's house. It was a nice night!!

Sunday I woke up bright and early to hide eggs before Ella got up. When she got up we told her that the Easter bunny came. She said, "he left stuff for me in the living room." She is too smart. That's exactly where her basket was sitting. I, I mean the Easter bunny, went a little overboard this year.

He also left a trail of eggs leading up to our front door...

Ella loved all of her Easter "stuff". It's actually still in her basket, because she likes to go through it all and put it all back in.

The Easter bunny left "another fancy book!" She loves Fancy Nancy!
After she went through everything we went out to hunt for eggs.

The boys had to come out and help!

How did that get in there!? Adam said his grandpa used to hide eggs in his pockets so Adam did the same.

After we finished the festivities at our house we headed over to my mom and dad's to eat lunch. We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather. It was such a nice, relaxing day.

I love this dress! She picked it out all by herself. She is getting so big!

Ella had to stop and take a break to see what was in the eggs.

Autumn got the biggest kick out of the silly string that was in their baskets. My dad got her right in the face, and she thought it was so funny!

No day would be complete without a trip to the playground!

We had a great Easter weekend. There is another celebration coming up this week though, MY 30th BIRTHDAY!!!!! YIKES!! Stay tuned...

Weekend fun

This has been such a busy weekend, and I am seriously exhausted!

Friday night we stayed home instead of going out to eat. It was actually nice to stay home and rest for a change. Lacey came over to show us her new car and eat with us. We also played outside since it was so nice out.  I went to bed early to rest of for my run in the morning.

Saturday morning I got up at 4am to get ready and be in Owensboro by 7am for the Owensboro 10 miler. Sarah was nice enough to sign me up for it as my birthday gift. Thank you Sarah!! I teased her by telling her there was nothing I loved more than getting up early just so I could go run 10 miles. I do seriously appreciate it though;) It was a good run. It was cloudy, cool, and my ankle/knees did not hurt. I ended up with a pretty good time too. It was around 1:32 or 1:33. I forgot to stop my watch, but this is my best guess. We unfortunately won't know our real time, because we had to stop for a train around mile 6 or 7. That was a first!

Me, Sarah, Sarah, Lindsey, and Julie (all five of us are doing the Nashville half marathon in April)

Saturday night I somehow got my second wind and went to Alison's 30th surprise birthday party. Adam was nice enough to stay home with Ella so I could go. I had the best time.  It felt like old times when we all used to go out back in the college days.

Macy had her party bow in for her mommy's birthday!!
Kevin and I! We had this same picture taken probably 6 or 7 years ago. We haven't aged a bit:)

 Pretty sure I want one:)

 CHEERS to 30!!!!

Around 9:00 it was back to reality though. I got a text from Adam saying Ella would not go to bed and was screaming bloody murder. Once I got this text it didn't feel like old times anymore. It was back to mommy duty, and I was ready to get home. Once I got home Ella would not go to sleep. I ended up putting her in bed with me, and she went right to sleep. She has been sneezing and has a runny nose. I think she just has allergies.

Today we went over to my mom and dad's to celebrate my birthday along with my brother's. We were there for about an hour and a half when Ella start screaming and crying saying she wanted to go home and take a nap. My mom had just gotten home with the pizza when Ella started this. We packed up and left, because you could tell she was in misery she was so tired. It just goes to show that things don't always go as planned with you have a child. We brought home some pizza and ate it after Ella laid down. It's currently 5:30, and she has been asleep since 2:00. I'd say she was exhausted!!
