Fingerpainting Fun

Since we have been stuck in the house for two days I have been doing everything I can to keep Ella occupied. Today we tried out the finger paints. I was worried she might try to eat it, but she actually seemed to understand what it was for. I think her first art project was a success!

Girly girl in the making!

SNOW!!

I can't believe the weathermen were actually right about the snow. I woke up this morning at 6am and was pleasantly surprised when I looked out the window. Once Ella woke up she ate breakfast, and we hurried outside. She seemed to like the snow until she fell on her face. She was pretty much done after that. I took her back out again in her wagon, and she seemed to enjoy rolling around the driveway.

Getting ready to enjoy the snow!

AND she's done....
No one appreciated the snow as much as these two. They LOVE it! I think Elliott could be outside all day. Elliott got so dirty this morning that he had to get a bath. When the snow started melting he was dripping mud all over the floor. Oh well, at least they had fun!

Good Morning!!

This is Ella after waking up from her 14 hours of sleep. Yes, you read that right, 14 hours! She went to bed at 6:00 and woke up at 8:00. The doctor must have wore her out yesterday.

This is Ella and her "my blankee" from our friend Alison. This is one of the softest blankets I have ever felt. I would love to have one for myself!

Ella's one year doctor's appointment

I have come to the realization that Ella is probably not going to be a girly girl like myself. She HATES bows, headbands, and hats. She basically despises anything frilly. I decided that I would try to put a bow in her hair today since she was going to the doctor. I got it in her hair without her noticing and snapped a few pictures. While I was giving her a bottle before we left I heard Elliott chewing on something. I looked down at her head, and the bow was gone. Within about five minutes she got it out of her hair, and it landed in Elliott's mouth. Story of my life! Oh well, enjoy the couple pictures I took of her. You might never see her with a bow in her hair again.

The doctor said everything seemed to be right on track. She weighs 21 pounds and is 31 3/4 inches tall. She is in the 95th percentile for height and 75th for weight.
I thought she might weigh a little more, but I think she burns it all off with all the walking/running she does around the house!

I guess by now you have heard we are supposed to get snow on Thursday. I will believe it when I see it. Ella picked out her first pair of snow boots today. We are very excited!

Ella was not very happy to be having her picture taken. She was all over the place. She didn't make it easy on him, but he got a few good shots.

New Years Day

I just wanted to post a few pictures of what Ella has been up to this New Years Day. She was very refreshed from her 13 hours of uninterrupted sleep. It's too bad she wasn't up to see the ball drop. Maybe next year!

This girl knows no fear!!

Climbing is so much fun!

Ella's first wagon ride around the neighborhood. It was FREEZING, but she loved it!
