Holiday World

Adam, Ella, and I went to Holiday World yesterday. It was the perfect day, because it wasn't too hot or too crowded. Adam was able to go with us since it was a weekend so that made it extra special for Ella. She loves when the three of us go anywhere together.

This was probably one of our last trips to Holiday World this year. This summer flew by! I was thinking back to opening day when Ella and I went in the POURING rain. That seems like ages ago. Ella and I love Holiday World. We are lucky we get to go as many times as we do. Can't wait until next year!

This ride freaks me out. ;)

Smothers Park

My mom and I took the girls to Smothers Park in Owensboro this past Thursday. It was probably the biggest, cleanest playground I have ever been to. There was every kind of slide imaginable. Different types of things to climb on, and fountains to splash in. It is a super nice playground. If you haven't been you need to go. It is well worth the short drive from here.

These trees were really neat. I think they had three of four. There were animal statues sitting on and hanging from the branches. The girls like sitting inside them and pretending they were their home.

Ella was not as thrilled with the fountains as Autumn was. Ella thought it was too cold, even though it was at least 90 outside.

At lunchtime we headed to McDonalds to eat some lunch and cool down. It was so hot out on Thursday. The girls of course requested that we go back to the playground so that is what we did after we ate.

I won't even mention what I had to go through just to get a picture of these two. Ella was not having it, but she eventually decided to cooperate for one picture. :)

Pre-K

Yesterday was Ella's first day of Pre-K. She is getting so big. Last year she blossomed so much during preschool. I can't wait to see how much she grows this year.

Ella was raring to go this morning. She is typically a late sleeper, but today she got up at 6:30am. She was so excited to see her friends again. She ate breakfast, got dressed, and was ready to go even before 8:00. That left us plenty of time to take some pictures. Everyone commented today that Ella looked like she grew at least 2 or 3 inches over the summer. I have to agree. She is so tall!

Ella asked to get a picture with daddy.

She obviously was not as thrilled to get a picture with me.

Ella is in the same classroom and has the same teachers, Mrs. B and Mrs. Kremer. We love them both! They are great teachers, and I will they could just follow along with Ella in her school career. Ella also has the same kids in her class with the exception of four. She was so excited to see Nick and Jude again, even though she wouldn't talk to them at first.

Parents were asked to come with them and stay on the first day just to cut down on some anxiety. Ella would have been fine without me. She said she can't wait to go Monday so she can go by herself. I must have been cramping her style!

During circle time Ella raised her hand and asked Mrs. B if it was her leader day. That was huge for Ella. I was so surprised she did this. Ella is so quiet in a group, but hopefully she will come out of that this year. I am so proud of the little girl she is becoming.

One last hurrah of the summer

Summer is quickly coming to an end.  Although I will miss it, I am definitely ready for some cooler weather.  This past weekend we said goodbye to summer with one last pool party at the Ice's.

We love these pool parties. It's fun getting together to swim and grill out. We call Aaron the "master griller." We always know we will get a good meal when we go over there.  I  will definitely miss our pool parties and am already looking forward to next summer!

Ella thinks Adam is a big toy. I am not sure who has more fun when they are together.

We had to see who could make the biggest splash. Adam definitely won the award with me coming in last.

Ella was obviously having a good time.

After we ate Ella wanted to swim again. She got to stay up wayy past her bedtime, but it was well worth it.

Maxwell wanted to join in on the fun too!

Goodbye summer 2013! It's been real!
