Field Trip and Franklin Street

This past Friday Ella had her first field trip with her class to Cates Farm. It was her first all day field trip, and she was so excited. My mom and I joined her class for the day.

They played in the play area, had story time, took a wagon ride, ate lunch, picked a pumpkin, decorated their pumpkin, and ended their day back in the play area. I think Ella's favorite part of the field trip was coming home early with me. Ha!

Saturday afternoon, we went trick or treating on Franklin Street with Autumn, Penny, and my mom. There were all kinds of activities beforehand that were free. It was a fun (but HOT) day.

Ella insisted on being the blue power ranger this year.

She is so good at hula hooping. She definitely has some moves!

My niece as a pink witch! I love her wig!

Ella lasted in her costume for about ten minutes. We can not win with the weather. Luckily, she had shorts and a t-shirt on underneath.

I love our fall activities, but I say bring on the holidays!!

Evansville Half Marathon 2014

A few weeks ago Sarah and I ran the half. This year was a little different for both of us. She was 11 weeks postpartum, and I was two months pregnant. We decided we would do it and just walk if we needed to.

It ended up being a great run. We only walked through water stops, and we both felt great. It was one of my favorite runs with her. I will miss running with Sarah over the next six months, but I know she will be a great motivation to me to get back to running after I pop this baby out. We have been running together for four years, and I can't imagine stopping now!

"Sole Sisters"

Ella is one of my biggest fans. I pick her up close to the finish line, and she runs to the finish with me. I hope she is a runner someday!

Pumpkin Patch 2014

We went to Mayse Farm Market today for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We have been going since Ella was two years old. This year was different though, because this was our last trip there as a family of three. Yikes!! I can't even imagine how it will be next year taking a baby.

We did all of our usual things: rat race, corn maze, tunnel slide, and wagon ride to pick a pumpkin. They also had a zip line this year for the kids.

Ella wanted a BIG pumpkin.

She ended up picking a green pumpkin that was very HEAVY. It doesn't look like it, but I couldn't even pick it up. Good choice, Ella!

Another year at the pumpkin patch in the history books!

Big Sister Ella

As everyone probably knows by now, Ella is going to be a big sister.  I never in a million years thought I would see the day. Ella has never wanted a sibling, and we did not plan on giving her one. We have always been happy and content with it just being the three of us. Things are about to change though.

Right now, I am 8 weeks 5 days pregnant. I'm feeling pretty good minus being extremely tired. I have to push myself to get stuff done during the day. I try not to take naps so I will sleep good at night. So far, this pregnancy thing is bearable.

I had my first doctor's appointment on Tuesday. I was a nervous wreck. My doctor has a little handheld ultrasound machine. She could not find the blood flow or heartbeat so I was sent to the big machine. They found it very easily. The heartbeat was 184, and everything looked good so far.

It's still crazy to me that I have a growing baby inside of my stomach! AHHH!!

I hope that all goes well with this pregnancy. It's crazy to think that in 7 short months we will become a family of four!

Grandparent's Day Celebration

I am SO behind on blogging. I can't even hardly stand it. Once I get caught up you may understand why, but for now I will just be annoyed with myself. I will get caught up soon!

Ella's school had a grandparent's day celebration a couple of weeks ago. They had a short program, a party in her room, and a book fair going on. Ella was so excited to have us and her grandparents at school with her.

This was the first time Ella has ever been up on stage. She didn't sing very much, but at least she didn't cry! It was such a sweet program. It took everything I had to hold it together.

After the program we headed up to Ella's classroom for snacks. This picture below is a picture of the teacher's desk. Those of you who know Ella, probably recognize something on her desk. That purple baby doll is Ella's doll, Violet. Everyone at school knows her by name, and everyday she sit's on her teacher's desk. We got the biggest kick out of this.

Ella is so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents in her life!

It was so nice to see Ella so happy at school. We went back and forth for awhile on where we were going to send her to school. It was easy to see that we made the right decision by how comfortable and happy she is there. I am so proud of her!

End of summer fun

Summer is almost over. I will be so happy to say good bye to the heat and especially the humidity. It's been wreaking havoc on my hair for the past three months, and I will be happy when I can wear my hair down again.

We have been able to do a few fun weekend activities since Ella has started school.

We had our last pool party of the summer with the Ice's. This pool party was a tiny bit different though. It was Isabelle's first time, and she did great!

Seriously Sarah, are you sure you popped out a kid a month ago!?

We are always sad to have the last pool party, but we know we will have many more next summer!

We also took our last trip to the water part at Holiday World. Adam, Ella, and I rode the Mammoth together. It was Ella's first time on a big slide like this. I thought it was a little scary. I kept looking at her thinking she was going to cry, but she never did. She said it was scary, but fun.

These pictures below are just a few pictures of Ella I took after school. I can not believe how big she is. I think she has grown a foot just since starting school. Speaking of school, she still gets a little teary when it's time for me to leave. Her teacher usually has to take her from me and escort her upstairs to the classroom. Besides that, Ella seems to really be enjoying herself. She has good days and comes home happy.
