Spring Break 2017

I'm sad to say that spring break is over.  We had such a good spring break. I am not looking forward to getting back into the school schedule, but we are in the home stretch!

We planned a last minute trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We just wanted to go somewhere for a couple of days so Ella and Paige could have some fun, and we could get away for a short time.  I'm not quite ready to take Paige on a week long trip again until I recover from our Disney trip. ;) Ha!

We left on Sunday morning. It took us a few hours to get ready. I'm not sure why it takes us so long to get out of the house, but it always does.  We didn't have to be in any hurry to get there which was nice. We had to stop at a Walmart after getting a text from Walkie Doggie that we forgot our cooler with milk.  Once Adam got back in the car it would not start.  Luckily, someone from the auto center came out and got us up and running again. It was a dead battery, and we haven't had a problem since. Crisis averted!

The car ride was pretty uneventful, and Paige did really well. Sitting still in a car seat for almost four hours is not easy for a toddler, but she did great. We made it late in the afternoon, and Ella and Paige were ready for some fun.

Ella and Paige received wolf ears and their paw passes at check in.

Paige spotted the water park and about went nuts. She was ready to go to the "pool" right then. She said pool over and over again the whole time we were there.

After we unpacked and ate we went down to the waterpark. Paige is pretty cautious around water but enjoyed splashing around.

Ella loves to swim so this was right up her alley.

After a long day we hit the sack. We had separate bedrooms so Paige and I were in one room and Adam and Ella in another. Trips can be stressful for me, because I never know if I will get good sleep or not. Kids are so unpredictable! After our Disney trip I knew it would be best for Paige to just sleep in bed with me, and she did great. I bought some bed bumpers so she didn't fall off the bed. Although Paige didn't take naps she slept really well at night so I was happy with that.

Paige woke up raring to go, and Ella obviously did not. She is not a morning person. Luckily it was completely acceptable to go to breakfast in your pjs and house shoes so that got her moving.

We hit up the waterpark again after breakfast and stayed there until it was time for lunch.

Paige loved to splash!

Ella loved the wave pool and stayed there most of the time.

I'm pretty sure no one enjoyed this trip as much as Paige. She loved it all! Besides for the fact that she can't sit still she is a pretty good little traveler.

We hit up the arcade that afternoon and even Paige played a few games. This game below was her favorite. A ball dropped into a fish bowl, and she screamed every time it did.

Ella won 500 tickets in a machine and ended up with 1,000 tickets. It was a successful trip to the arcade.

As a kid we always got pictures like this on hotel room beds with my parents, and I have carried on the tradition. Thank goodness for tri-pods and self timers!

The following morning we packed up to head home. We stopped at the Newport Aquarium since it was on the way. The aquarium was nice but extremely crowded. Paige and I got split up from Adam and Ella, and we couldn't even find them.

Everything is so new and exciting for Paige. This was her first time to an aquarium, and she loved it. She kept pointing and saying "bathtub".

After we left the aquarium it was time to head home. We had a fun little getaway. Even though I was worried it would be stressful and exhausting, it ended up going really well. It was a fun little getaway, but it felt so good once we got back home. There is something about traveling that makes you appreciate your home... and your bed.

Can't wait for our next adventure!

Warm Winter Days

We have had an unusually warm winter here in Southern Indiana, and I am not complaining. I think we have maybe had an inch of snow, and Ella hasn't even missed any school due to snow this year. It's crazy!

We have spent some much needed time outside the past couple of months. Time outside seems to make the days just fly by. Paige and I have enjoyed many walks during the day, and Ella has loved riding "hovey" outside. Even though it's been a mild winter, I'm still dying for spring to get here. All the flowers are blooming and trees are budding and of course it would get cold again. The countdown is on for spring!

Ella has a need for speed just like her daddy. God help me!

Paige LOVES days spent outside!

Don't dare take her chalk away or try to put it away. She will freak out!

She loves her "hovey".

11 years

Adam and I were married 11 years as of 2.4.2017. We have been through A LOT in those eleven years. You think you know someone when you marry them but come to find out, there is still a lot to learn. We have learned so much about each other the past eleven years.  Adam and I have both grown and changed so much, but lucky for us we have only grown stronger as a couple.

I thank my lucky stars everyday for Adam. He is one of the good guys. He is truthful (even when I do want to hear the truth). He respects me and treats me almost too good sometimes.  He is usually the voice of reason when I am freaking about about something and bundling (as he calls it) my problems.  He is hardworking and determined. He is a dedicated daddy and husband. He is of course not perfect. He has some quirks that drive me nuts, but I know I can drive him nuts too!

I am thankful for Adam and the life we have together. I'm looking forward to many more happy years together. :)

Life Lately - January/February edition

Time to play catch up again! My last post was at the beginning of January and here it is already mid February. Time flies when you are having fun!!

We have had some unseasonably warm days here lately. Ella had her friend, Jossalyn, over after school, and it was the perfect day to play outside. I am so thankful Ella has such good school friends.

Paige is looking more and more like a two year old and less like a toddler everyday. She is always busy. When she is not playing she is probably into something she shouldn't be. She talks up a storm. Her vocabulary amazes me. She seems to pick up new words daily. Paige is such a joy, but the girl wears me out!

Paige has figured out how to kiss. It's the sweetest thing to see her pucker up and know she wants to kiss you. This girl is pure sugar!!

Ella had a pj day for spirit week in January. She is all about participating in spirit week. It would make my life so much easier if she could just wear pj's everyday.

Paige is obsessed with her zipadeezips. She has slept in one since she was five months old. I just bought the last size they have for this spring and summer so after that I'm not sure what we will do.

Adam was out of town for a week in January. Ella sleeps with me while he is gone. We typically go to bed after Paige goes to sleep and watch tv. Ella obviously loves it.

Adam turned 37 a few weeks ago. We celebrated by going to Kanpai, and then coming home for some bday cake.

Ella picked out this shirt for Adam for his birthday, and then had to have one just like him. They love to play minecraft together.

Paige had her first cold/ear infection in January. It was so not fun. The poor girl could not sleep. On day four of the cold she woke up with a fever, and cried almost all day. After a trip to the doctor I found out she had an ear infection. She was started on Amoxicillin. She HATED it just like Ella. I had to hide it in yogurt and yogurt smoothies just to get it down her. We didn't leave the house for days so once she was feeling better I introduced her to my favorite lunch at Moe's.

Last week we had a couple of warm days so Paige and I soaked up the sun. We love taking walks around the neighborhood.

Paige turned 21 months on 2.11.17.

Autumn came over to play, and Ella realized she had the same outfit as Autumn. Ella changed so they could match when we went to Target. These two have the cutest bond with each other. I love to listen to their conversations.

Ella's class visited the third grade at the east campus last week. Ella has been at the north campus since Kindergarten. It's her last year there, and it makes me sad just thinking bout it. I didn't think this day would come, but here we are. Ella is not excited at all the be switching to the main campus so I can only hope it goes well.

Ella's class had their last party on Valentine's Day. It is her last party at North campus. She has been with these friends since Kindergarten so next school year will be totally different.
