Last Scales Lake trip of the summer

I'm sad to say it, but summer is quickly coming to an end. School is starting, it's getting dark earlier, and pools are closing. Yesterday was our last time to swim at Scales Lake until next year. So sad! I am so glad Joan introduced us to it though, because there is so much to do there. I'm sure we will continue to go in the fall, but we just won't be able to swim.

I got my baby fix again. I could just eat him up!

Teddy watched as the big kids played. I know he is just dying to get out of his carrier and play. Joan will really have her hands full then chasing three around!

Teddy is sitting up now so I had to see it and take a few pictures.

Ella loves to play in the sand. She even sat and laid in the water this time. Never thought I'd see the day!

Teddy got to splash around in the water too. It was so cute!

Tuesday Fun

We had our usual Tuesday play date with the Pugh's today! We met up at the zoo, and then had lunch at McDonalds.  Ella has finally warmed up to Rose and Elijah and really enjoys spending time with them. I am happy to see she is making some friends. I have noticed she is becoming less timid around other kids, and that makes me happy.

We were just in time for the giraffe feeding!

Doesn't he have the most amazing blue eyes?

I love these pictures below. Rose was yelling at the monkey's, and they were cracking up. Ella was laughing so hard. It was cute!

The Three Amigos.

Joan brought Ella this doll she made. I am not quite sure how she has time to make all the things she makes. She is so crafty!

I still can't get over his blue eyes.

Ella has really taken to Elijah. I think he is her first boyfriend. :)

Rose had to cool down. It was so hot today!

Pretty sure these two could get in some serious trouble together. They were up to no good!

Ella thinks Rose is so funny!

I can't leave out Teddy. We didn't hear a peep out of him today. He was content to ride around in his stroller. He is such a good baby. I was happy to get my baby fix for the day!

Weekend Fun

It's Sunday night, and I am exhausted from a busy, fun weekend!

Saturday morning I got up bright and early for a 5K run at the Y. They have a run series leading up to the half marathon, and yesterday was the first of the three. I really wanted to get a good time. I can usually run three miles in about 27:45-28:00 minutes. My goal was to beat that. The weather was definitely not on my side though. It was so HUMID. I am not a fan of running in the heat and humidity. I gave it my all and ended up with a time of 27:09. I was really happy with that.  I was in the top 20 females somehow. I was #20 out of 179. I still can not believe how far I have come in the past year and a half of running. I never thought I would stick with it this long, but I love it!

This is the only picture I have from the run. Adam always takes pictures at these runs, but he wasn't expecting me to finish that fast. As I came to the finish I saw Adam wandering down the street. He had been sitting in the car in the air conditioning. :)

After the run I hurried home to shower and get ready for our visit with the Andreae's. Adam works with Bobby at the hospital in Terre Haute. I have gotten to know Brandi through facebook and her blog. We also got to hang out with them in New York this past November. It was nice to see them again. Brandi and I have a lot in common so we had quite a few things to talk about.  They have a one year old, Natalie, and they recently had a baby, Aubrey. It was fun to see Ella and Natalie play together. It was also nice having a baby around again. I forgot what it was like, and it brought back so many memories for me. Aubrey reminded me a lot of Ella at that age.

We went to the Children's Museum shortly after they got here. I was so happy to see they still had the school room. Ella loves that room and talks about it a lot. The main reason she likes it is for the Thomas the Train table they have. I think she could play with that all day long.

Natalie at the wet deck. I have never seen a child that loves water as much as she does!

I took full advantage of holding Aubrey. She was so sweet and kept smiling at me and eventually fell asleep. I could just eat her up!

After the museum we went to Turoni's for lunch. I thought that would be the perfect Evansville restaurant to eat at. I think our lunch went pretty well considering we had three kids along with us. Ella did have to go check out the bathrooms three times while we were there. We have to do this at almost every public place we go to now.

We headed back to our house after lunch. Bobby was nice enough to help Adam hide the cords that have been hanging down the wall from our TV for almost four years. It's not a huge deal, but I have always wanted the wires hidden. Bobby showed Adam how to install an  outlet behind the tv so now all the hook ups are directly behind the television.  It took a little longer than expected, but it was well worth it. It looks so much better. I meant to take a picture today to put on here, but I forgot.

Brandi and I watched the girls play pretty much all day. It was so fun to see Ella interact with a child younger than her. Everything Ella did Natalie wanted to do. Natalie got the biggest kick out of Ella. It was really cute!

We got out the bouncy house, water table, and sprinkler for them to play in. It kept them busy for quite awhile.

Natalie kept trying to dunk her face in the water. She has no fear!

This is what happens when you leave your child with me. I let them play in the mud;) Brandi had to go in to feed Aubrey. Natalie discovered some mud and thought it was so fun. I think she would have slathered herself in mud if I wouldn't have got her out of it.

I can't get over how big Ella looks compared to Natalie. I don't realize how big she is getting until I see her around small children.

I had to steal these pictures from Brandi's blog. They were just too cute not to share. Adam held Aubrey for a little bit shortly before they left. As soon as he took her she started smiling. It was so sweet.

Isn't she the cutest little thing!?

Bobby and Brandi didn't leave until around 8:30. Both of their girls were troopers. Natalie didn't have a nap, and she was so good all day. She didn't even fuss when it was close to her bedtime. We had a great visit with them. Hopefully we can do it again soon!
