Pre-K

Yesterday was Ella's first day of Pre-K. She is getting so big. Last year she blossomed so much during preschool. I can't wait to see how much she grows this year.

Ella was raring to go this morning. She is typically a late sleeper, but today she got up at 6:30am. She was so excited to see her friends again. She ate breakfast, got dressed, and was ready to go even before 8:00. That left us plenty of time to take some pictures. Everyone commented today that Ella looked like she grew at least 2 or 3 inches over the summer. I have to agree. She is so tall!

Ella asked to get a picture with daddy.

She obviously was not as thrilled to get a picture with me.

Ella is in the same classroom and has the same teachers, Mrs. B and Mrs. Kremer. We love them both! They are great teachers, and I will they could just follow along with Ella in her school career. Ella also has the same kids in her class with the exception of four. She was so excited to see Nick and Jude again, even though she wouldn't talk to them at first.

Parents were asked to come with them and stay on the first day just to cut down on some anxiety. Ella would have been fine without me. She said she can't wait to go Monday so she can go by herself. I must have been cramping her style!

During circle time Ella raised her hand and asked Mrs. B if it was her leader day. That was huge for Ella. I was so surprised she did this. Ella is so quiet in a group, but hopefully she will come out of that this year. I am so proud of the little girl she is becoming.

One last hurrah of the summer

Summer is quickly coming to an end.  Although I will miss it, I am definitely ready for some cooler weather.  This past weekend we said goodbye to summer with one last pool party at the Ice's.

We love these pool parties. It's fun getting together to swim and grill out. We call Aaron the "master griller." We always know we will get a good meal when we go over there.  I  will definitely miss our pool parties and am already looking forward to next summer!

Ella thinks Adam is a big toy. I am not sure who has more fun when they are together.

We had to see who could make the biggest splash. Adam definitely won the award with me coming in last.

Ella was obviously having a good time.

After we ate Ella wanted to swim again. She got to stay up wayy past her bedtime, but it was well worth it.

Maxwell wanted to join in on the fun too!

Goodbye summer 2013! It's been real!

We're moving!

We bought a house!

A couple of weeks ago I was looking at houses online and came across a new listing. I immediately liked it. It had many of the things Adam and I were looking for, and as an added bonus it had a great playhouse. I casually mentioned it to Adam not thinking much of it. I think I said something along the lines of, "Let's just throw caution to the wind and buy this house." He laughed and basically told me I was crazy. He did end up looking at it online and loved it too. He loved the playhouse the most, because he thought he could use it for an office.

It just so happens there was an open house the following Sunday. We went and loved the house! Ella loved it too, so much she didn't want to leave. The following evening we went back again with our realtor to see it.

After lots of thought and discussion we made an offer, and our offer was accepted. There was another offer, but they accepted ours since we gave them 60 days instead of 30 to close. As of October 21st the house will be ours. Everyone please say a big prayer for us that our house sales before then. We have a possible offer coming so we are hoping our prayers are answered soon.

We love our new house and are excited to move in, but I know we will miss our current house. We have made lots of memories here, and it has been home for seven years. We will definitely be sad and happy when it finally sells.

Here are a few pics of our new house with the current owners stuff in it:)

View from the front door. Ella is so excited to move!

Love that double oven!

I have plans to paint this living room, but definitely not until we get new furniture in the future.

Master bedroom

Guest Bathroom

Third bedroom which will probably be empty room for us. The current owner painted that tree on the wall, and I am going to leave it. Too pretty to paint over!

Ella's bedroom which will be pink and set up just like her room at our current house.

Adam's future office.

This will definitely be redone to be a little more manlier!

They are leaving the play set, but we plan on taking Ella's play set from our house since Adam's spent a week's vacation putting it together. It has a lot of sentimental value. This one will find a new home at my parent's house.

Our awesome patio. I can't wait to get some new patio furniture!

The upstairs craft room/office off the bonus room. This will be my room!

The bonus room/playroom which we will probably use for our main living area.

We are so excited and happy to have found this house. We can't wait to make new memories there and make it our home.

First Haircut

Ella got her very first haircut today. It took me long enough! Her hair was starting to look scraggly and unhealthy so I knew it was time. I took her to the only person I trust with her hair, Misty. She has been doing my hair for the last 8 years, and I think she is awesome.

Ella was not happy about her hair cut. I am not sure what she was envisioning, but she thought it was going to hurt. She screamed and cried before we left. We took ladybug and baby in hopes that would help, even though I knew once we got there she would be fine.

Ella ended up doing great, and her hair looks so much better. Ella requested we stop by my parent's house on the way home so they could see. Out of nowhere she told them she was upset about getting her haircut before we left the house. It made me feel kind of bad, but she said she loves it now.

Ella is getting to be such a big girl. I can't believe she will be starting Pre-K in a few short weeks!
