Impatiently waiting for spring!

This past Monday and Tuesday we had GLORIOUS weather! Ella and I spent a ton of time outside. We played out in the yard and did sidewalk chalk. I went for a run with her in the jogging stroller. We also made out first playground trip of the year. 
Ella was so excited when I asked her if she wanted to go to the playground. We both appreciated the fact that we were able to get out of the house. We have been cooped up way too much this winter. 

After another wonderful day yesterday of 65 degree weather it is 35 today and raining/sleeting. Southern Indiana weather is wonderful! 

Run of Luck

Yesterday, Sarah and I ran in the Run of Luck 7K at USI. A 7K is 4.3 miles for those of you who do not know. This was my third year doing the Run of Luck and probably my favorite year so far. The weather was perfect for running. 
Ella and I both dressed up in green for the run. I promised Ella we would meet her at the end, and she could run to the finish line with us. She was so excited!

I'm hoping those long, skinny legs of hers will go on many runs with me someday. 

This run was a little different than most runs as Sarah is 20 weeks pregnant. Honestly, I forgot she was pregnant while we were running. She was a little bit slower than usual, but she was still motivating me as she usually does. I will miss our runs together once she gets further along in her pregnancy! 

Minus the rolling hills (they were killer) it was a great run. I love doing these runs, because they keep me motivated to run!

My biggest supporters. I'm always thankful to see them at the finish line. Adam has been at the finish line waiting for me at every single run for the past three years. It means a lot to me! 

Let's Bowl!

Last week my mom and I took the girls bowling. 
I used to love to bowl. I still do. I have good memories from college going bowling with friends on Saturday nights. I think we only did it a couple of times, but it was so fun. I may or may not have had a couple of beers and fell as I threw the ball one time. Fun memories I will never forget! 
It was so entertaining watching these girls bowl together.  They both looked especially cute in their bowling shoes. 

They tried to throw the ball themselves, but they ended up using a stand to push the ball down. That was much easier for them. 

At one point Ella looked at me and said, "Mommy, did I get a stroke." No honey, you didn't get a stroke or a strike. 

The girls ended up playing three games, but by the third game I think they were over it. They both were getting tired. They had to get the full bowling alley experience so we ordered some french fries, cookies, and drinks.   All in all it was a great day at the bowling alley. 

Lately....

We haven't been doing much lately considering it has been cold and snowy. Ella has had quite a few snow days this January and February and missed preschool. I'll be glad when the weather is nice, and we can stay in our routine. 
A couple of weeks ago we had snow and ice, and Ella missed preschool for almost a week. Fun times! It was the perfect time to get some cute pictures of her for Valentines Day.

 Adam thought it would be a good idea for Ella to sled down our icy driveway. Instead of trying it out ourselves first, we sent her down on the sled by herself. Bad idea considering she hit a big chunk of ice, and then went flying across the street. 

Last Saturday, Adam's work had a family night at the Evansville Icemen hockey game. They gave us free tickets and each of us money for food.  Adam works for the nicest company. They are so nice he has actually stuck with them for five years. That is something special for Adam. 
We braved the cold and ended up having a great time at the game. Ella loved it and has been talking about hockey ever since.

The following morning, Ella woke up at 4am complaining of an ear ache.  You would have never even known she was sick. After a trip to the after hours clinic we found out she did in fact have an ear infection. I cringe every time I hear this, because I know what is in store for us. Ella's normal doctor gives us a 5 day medicine, because she knows what we go through. Ella HATES,let me repeat that, HATES medicine. This doctor just insisted she be put on a 10 day antibiotic. I'm still cursing his name to this day. It was rough, but we made it through. 

The past couple of days have been warmer and make me long for spring. I can not wait for warmer weather and Disney!!

8 years

Adam and I have been married 8 years today. Looking back we were so young and naive when we got married. I was 23 and Adam was 25. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but we knew we wanted to be together forever.  
In eight years we have been through a lot:  two dogs (our first children), two houses, many jobs, a child, serious illness, an online business, and double mortgage payments. Through all of that our love for each other has never faltered.   
Through the years we have learned a lot about each other, and our marriage has grown. I can't imagine being with anyone else. The first time I met Adam my friend, Leslie, told me he was the kind of guy you marry. She was absolutely right. 
Adam is a great husband and all around good guy. I am so lucky to have him. I know we will spend many more happy years together!
Happy 8 years, to us! 

Gymnastics

Ella started gymnastics again this past Tuesday. She did it for about six weeks last year, but then decided she didn't want to do it anymore. I'm hoping she will want to stick with it this time around, because she seems to really enjoy it while she is there. 
I'm pretty sure she has grown a foot since last January. She is SO tall and lean. I'm not sure who she gets that build from. Her nickname is string bean, because she is so skinny!

 

Ella was a little shy when we walked in. She didn't want to join the group until I sat down with her. Luckily, I was able to go sit and watch only after a few minutes. It takes her a bit to warm up. My mom and Autumn came to watch so Ella thought that was really special. 

Ella's teacher seems very enthusiastic and patient.
