Paige's first zoo trip

Paige is experiencing all kinds of firsts lately, and today was her first time at the zoo. The weather was perfect with little humidity and a light breeze. The zoo was the first place I thought of this morning, and Ella was all for it once she woke up.

This was the first time Paige rode in her stroller without the car seat. She doesn't typically mind her car seat, but she doesn't like to be in it for long periods of time. She is finally stable enough to sit in her actual stroller.

We had to make a pit stop to feed Paige, because she was a little fussy when we got there. Once she was fed she was good to go.

I bought an  ergobaby carrier this week. It's so nice to be able to carry Paige on my chest but not actually hold her. She stayed like this for most of the trip. I have a feeling I will get a lot of use out of this thing.

While waiting for the tram I decided it was the perfect time to take a few pictures. We ended up waiting at least half an hour for it. It's not like the zoo is a happening place in Evansville so I'm not sure what was going on.

Love these two girls so much even though they wear me out on a daily basis.

Paige was still perfectly content on the way out of the zoo. I think she was out even before pulling out of the parking lot.

Ella said, "I love this Sunday" while we were at the zoo so that definitely made it a worthwhile trip.  It was a great day and a  great first trip to the zoo with Paige. I'm sure it was just the first of many more fun times to come at the zoo.

Big day

Yesterday was a big day at the Bertram household! Ella lost her very first tooth, and she finally walked into school by herself! That's a lot for this mom to take in all in one day.

Ella told me on Thursday night that I could just drop her off at the door the following morning. Since the very first day of kindergarten I have parked, walked her in, waited for the bell to ring, gave her a high five, and watched her walk up. First and second grade parents typically don't go in the building in the morning. They just drive up and drop off. Friday morning I watched Ella walk in by herself for the very first time, and I would be lying if I said I didn't shed a few tears. As much as I love the fact that she is gaining confidence, I am also saddened by the fact that she doesn't need me as much as she used to. Excuse me while I go cry some more...

Ella also lost her very first baby tooth Friday morning. I was SO excited, because we had a dentist appointment scheduled for this coming Monday to have that tooth pulled. The adult tooth has been growing in behind the baby tooth, and it needed to come out asap. We don't have to worry about that now. Ella was excited for the tooth fairy to come and get her name put on the tooth board at school.

I had a little fun, I mean the tooth fairy had a little fun Friday while she was at school. I found a tooth receipt and spray glitter. I sprayed pink glitter on the five dollar bill and receipt She thought that was so cool.

Before the tooth fairy took that tooth I had to get a picture of it. I remember when this tooth came in and now it's gone.

It won't be long before she loses her front teeth and another tooth on the bottom.

My girl is growing up way too fast!

Ella and Paige | Week 16

I really need to get caught up with these weekly posts so I can actually remember what happened during that week. Time is flying, especially now that Ella is is school. There is never a dull moment in our house. I used to remember when I would get bored. I can't remember what boredom feels like. Someone always wants or needs something, something needs to be cleaned, laundry always needs to be done. There is always something to do! I am not complaining, just stating a fact. :)

We had some awesome weather, and I was actually able to get Paige out in the baby swing without sweating to death. She loved it! She enjoys sitting in the swing sucking on her fingers. She will sit there quietly until I take her out. A couple of times she almost fell asleep. I look forward to cooler weather but definitely not winter weather.

Ella's so close to losing one of her front teeth and a bottom tooth as well. If it doesn't fall out on it's own soon the dentist will assist her in getting it out. She has an adult tooth coming in behind the baby tooth, and it needs to come out soon. The tooth fairy better start saving some money, because I have a feeling she is going to be busy pretty soon!

Paige has found her feet!

It was national dog day a couple of weeks ago. I had to get a picture of our very first baby. Poor Elliott does not get as much attention as he deserves, but we still love him dearly.

I'm thinking Paige is not enthused with these headbands, but she will be wearing them until she tells me otherwise;)

The happiest baby...ever!

One Friday night we played Googly eyes with Ella. It was such a fun game. I love the age Ella is at right now. She will sit forever and play board games with us.

Ella and Paige | Week 15

We quickly jumped right back into the school routine. This was the second week of school, and I am proud to say Ella is still doing well. It's not easy to get her moving in the morning, but she happily goes to school everyday. Thank goodness!

It is not all rainbows and unicorns though. Ella has had a hard time with me bringing Paige to school to pick her up. I don't always have to bring Paige, because sometimes she is napping. Adam comes in while I pick up Ella. If Paige is awake,  I have to take her. As soon as Ella sees me she starts to cry. It's so bad some of the other moms have seen this going on and smile when they see I have Paige with me.They know what's coming!  We did have one day of no crying so I'm hoping this is just a phase, and she will get over it. The rough life of a six year old...
Ella also missed her first day of school. She came home not feeling well on Thursday and was running a fever by that night. She continued running a fever the next day but had no other symptoms. Luckily, it was just a 24 hour bug.

Paige started going to kid's club at our gym. I made myself take her, and she of course does fine. It's nice to have an hour to myself to work out. Poor Paige is getting thrown into this stuff a lot earlier than Ella, but I learned the hard way the first go round.

She has that lip down pat!

New pj's on the left. Ready for swim lessons on the right. Ella just completed a full year of swim lessons, and we are onto year two!

Paige is ready to wear some of her fall clothes if the weather would just cooperate!

The happiest baby you will ever meet!

Won't be long and Ella will be missing a front tooth. How can that be!?

Adam and I were able to escape for a little overnight trip to our favorite place (Gaylord opryland). It was SO nice to get away. I shopped til I dropped.  We had lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant, Chuy's. We relaxed and had drinks and dinner at the hotel. It was a fun little trip. We definitely appreciate time to ourselves these days.

Too bad this picture of us isn't in focus. You never know what you will get when you ask a random person to take your picture. Bummer!
