New Friends

I met another mom, Sarah, through my friend Sarah. I have met Sarah before at a run, and I saw her again at Run of Luck. We figured out that we both go work out at the Y so we met there today to run, and then she invited Ella and I over to her house. Sarah has four children so I thought this was a great opportunity for Ella to get acquainted with some kiddos she doesn't know.

It took Ella a little bit, but she warmed up pretty quickly to them. By the time we left she had made herself right at home. She even went potty at their house which is huge for her, because she is usually not fond of going potty at unfamiliar places. Unfortunately, our new friends will probably be moving out of town pretty soon, but we will have fun with them while we can!!

St. Patty's weekend

It was a beautiful weekend, and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the weather. Friday we met Erin, Bree, and Mallory at the zoo. It's been awhile since we had last seen them so it was good to catch up. We were afraid it might rain, but the weather ended up being perfect. We ended our visit with lunch outside and a trip in the gift shop. It was a great time. We can't wait for a Holiday World trip this summer!

Saturday morning I participated in the Run of Luck 7K. It ended up being much warmer than I anticipated. I got used to running in colder weather, and now it's going to be hard to adjust to the warm weather. It also didn't help that I had a thermal tank top on underneath my t-shirt. We enjoyed a couple beers at the beer garden after the run. It was fun!

Today I got caught up on laundry and went to the store. We grilled out for the first time and ate outside. I hope this weather is here to stay, because I love it!

It's a zoo around here!

Today has been one of those days. Around 2:00 Ella became very tired and cranky! She has suddenly decided she doesn't need to nap anymore. She hasn't had a nap in probably two weeks now. Last week I was still making her stay in her bed, but this week I thought I would just skip that. I think I am going to go back to that tomorrow. It's a long day for her and I when she doesn't at least rest a little bit. She has also been a little lazy with using the potty today, even though she has been consistently going on the potty since December.  Maybe it's the weather!? I had to do laundry tonight, and I washed 8 pairs of wet panties.

The dogs have also been giving me a run for my money. Elliott has started jumping up in the chair as soon as we get up from dinner and trying to eat off our plates that are still on the table. The dog is short and hasn't tried to jump on anything taller than our couch for 6 years. I'm not sure why he has decided to do this all of the sudden. The other day while I was eating Ella told me she had to pee and needed help. On my way back to the table I heard a slurping noise. It was Elliott in my chair eating my food off my plate. Story of my life!  Both him and Brody got out today and were out front. I didn't realize this until I heard Elliott barking and growling at three women walking down the street with strollers. I about had a heart attack when I figured out they were out front. It's a zoo around here!

Ella has been so funny lately. She runs around jabbering and singing all the time. She has said some of the funniest stuff. Tonight Adam had her sitting on the counter so he could wash her hands and feet in the sink. She was spraying her feet with the sprayer and she said, "piggies are taking a shower." We went outside earlier today and she said, "It's not cold out here. It's a beautiful summer day." My mom drove her by Adam's work the other day after we ate lunch. She said, "That is daddy's work. I can't do daddy's job." You just never know what is going to come out of her mouth.

Poor Ella was bullied by an 18month old at child watch yesterday at the Y. The 18month old tried to take her bow, and Ella was so upset. When I went in there to pick her up her cheeks were red, and I knew something was wrong. When they told me what happened I couldn't help but laugh a little. One of these days maybe she will learn to toughen up!

We have been LOVING this weather. I'm pretty sure Ella could live outside. I love seeing the flowers bloom and trees bud. This is my favorite time of year. I hope this nice weather sticks around!

Disney on Ice

Today Ella and I went to Disney on Ice with my mom, Penny, and Autumn. Ella has been looking forward to this for weeks. Every time she spotted a billboard advertising it on the side of the road I would hear, "I'm going to that."

Our morning started out with lots of crying and fit throwing from a very tired Ella. She decided it was time to give up her naps this week. She woke up tired today and was pretty cranky. I was concerned that she may not make it through the whole show, but she ended up doing great.

As soon as we got there I turned on my camera and read "no card" on the display. My heart sank. I am a picture freak. I take pictures of every.single.thing. we do. I can't imagine why I forgot my card! Later on I remembered you can shoot without a card. I took well over a hundred pictures, and come to find out my camera has no where to store them. Once you take the picture and see it on the screen it's gone. I am pretty sure that is the dumbest setting on my camera. I am still a little sick about it, but it's not the end of the world.

I did get a few pictures with my phone that I will share. Ella LOVED Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. My favorite part was the army men from Toy Story. I loved watch Ella and Autumn clap and sing. They were both so cute and sat so well during the whole show.

As soon as we got in the car Ella was throwing a fit, because she wanted to see Disney on Ice again.  I can't say I blame her. I loved it so much I would go again too:)

First zoo trip of 2012

Minus the crazy wind, it is a beautiful day here! This morning I woke up and decided to take Ella to the zoo. It's the perfect day for it!

We met up with Terry and Autumn. Ella had a great time and enjoyed being out in the fresh air. This is the first time I didn't take our stroller. I usually take it just in case we need it. Ella walked the entire zoo, except the last big hill to the exit (of course).  She is getting to be such a big girl!

It was a great day for a nap in the fresh air!
 She loves her sunglasses!

We fed the giraffes for the first time. Ella loved it!
 I did too!

I can't get over how cute she is in her sunglasses:)

When did she get so big!?

She had to stop and smell the flowers!

I am so excited for nice weather and many more zoo trips to come!!

March Madness 10K

This past weekend I participated in the March Madness 10K out at USI with Sarah. I unfortunately started feeling like I was getting a cold on Friday. Saturday morning I woke up a little congested, but I wasn't going to let it stop me.

The weather was perfect for a run. It wasn't freezing like it was two weeks ago for the 5K at USI. I was actually not planning on doing this run. I have been having some ankle problems the past couple of weeks. I have been pretty bummed about it, but I thought it may be best to just lay off for a little bit. Come to find out, I just needed new shoes. This happened to me last year too. I need to stay on top of my shoes from now on so I don't have this problem!!

And we're off....
The course wasn't too bad. It consisted of quite a few hills. I am not a fan of running up hill. Sarah and I had a great pace this run. We ran  a little under a 9 minute mile the entire run. We ended up getting our best time yet. It was around 52:33. I'm anxious to see the results. Adam and Aaron didn't even see us finish, because they didn't think we would be back so soon. Little did they know...

All of our hard work is definitely paying off. Next up, Ruck of Luck!! We will be decked out in green:)
